Visitors are required to present a valid passport, except nationals of the UK and Canada who have proof of identity (photo id/birth certificate), subject to length of stay and possession of an onward/return ticket. US Citizens must have a passport to re-enter the United States. Nationals of the US, UK or Commonwealth countries, European Union countries, Japan and certain other countries do not require visas. A US visa is normally required for travel via the US, although special in-transit arrangements can be made in Miami. It is always wise to double check entry requirements with your travel agent. |

The Cayman Islands dollar has a fixed exchange rate with the US dollar, generally CI$1.00=US$1.25, or CI$0.80=US$1.00. Exchange rate will vary locally, from 0.8 to 0.84, depending on where you exchange. Typically, best rates are obtained exchanging travelers' checks at a local bank. US currency is accepted and used with local currency, but your change will always be in Cayman Islands currency. |

By far the most convenient and easy method of land transportation is car rental. Some visitors hesitate at the thought, as we drive on the left in the Caymans, but the ease of conversion is much less difficult than most imagine. Many car rental agencies are located right at the airport, and most have pick up and drop off service to any hotel on the island. The cost can be quite economical in comparison to daily taxi fare, and what could be more fun than driving a Jeep with the top down on a beautiful Caribbean day? |
